Nick in LA Partie 3

Sunday we woke up early to go to Universal Studios.

Nick on Citywalk
I had some strawberries and cream while nick had a croissant and coffee.
Yeah!
As soon as we entered, I dragged Nick down to the lower lot to go on Jurassic Park because there was only a 5 min wait. Afterwards we were drenched. Nick said that he understood why there was only a 5 min wait. Ha. Then we went on the Mummy and ventured to the upper lot again.

Simpsons ride
Our best friend. He patted us both on the back after the photo was taken.
Nick still had sand stuck in his ear from the day before.

The studio tour, in the tokyo drift section. It was the WORST studio tour I've ever been on, and I've been on it maybe 10 times now. It lasted 1.5 hours because we kept stopping and watching unnecessary clips to buy time. Also, someone kept pulling on the medical cord, thus prolonging our stops. The tour guide sucked too. Also maybe we were cranky because we were hungry. The new King Kong 3d stop was underwhelming, and we also experienced technical difficulties the first time we entered the cave so we had to go back in. I prefer the old King Kong, sadly that burned down 2 years ago.
Then finally we ate. Mexican food. I had a frozen margarita.
After seeing Terminator, and Waterworld, and Shrek, we went back to my house.

Mom and Dad BBQ-ing lamb, corn, steak, salmon

Delicioussssss!!! Mom made asparagus because Alex thought the asparagas in Eat Pray Love looked delicious.

We had vanilla custard for dessert, and talked over green tea. My dad brought out his Wu Liang Ye, which is the best kind of Bai Jiu- it's like a Chinese whiskey except it's clear. Nick and Dad took shots of that while talking for a few hours- they became best friends.

Then we drove back to the hotel. Danced a lil' in the hotel room

Then we went swimming

Nick's flight was 7am this morning, so we woke up around 4:30 and I took him to LAX.
morning shot.

This will be the last time I'll see him for 3 months.
Tomorrow morning, I fly to NYC in the morning, then I have a 2 hour lay over and then I'll catch the group flight to Paris. The next day I'll be in Paris around 10am.

Man o man, this summer was the best summer and it went by so fast. Can't believe I'm leaving TOMORROW.

Today I had a physical. Had a tetanus shot in my left arm and 3 vials of blood drawn out of my right arm. Now I feel sick.

Nick in LA Partie 2

Day 2, we went to the Getty Villa. Mom made me and Nick a grilled cheese to take on the road.

This was a statue that said "Please Touch". Kevin and Alex made this happen:

Then we went to Zuma beach. I spent 2 summers at Zuma beach for surf camp when I was younger. We'd take a giant stretch limo to go to camp every morning from Santa Monica. Zuma has always been my favorite beach- the water is glassy, perfectly blue/green, so clean. Unfortunately the water was freezing; 2 mins in the water made it feel like my feet were imploding with needles- like someone was massacring both feet with a tattoo gun.

Then Nick laid down and I started burying his feet.

Eventually we buried his whole body. Kevin and Alex kept saying "Look at these leg hairs!" and pulling his leg hairs.

Afterwards we went home, and Alex, Nick and I went to the Big Chill for some froyo. They had chocolate and vanilla custard, my favorite flavors. Big Chill is the best froyo in LA and it's right by my house. After a shower, I took Nick to the Griffith Observatory.

Looking at the stars, the city, and the Hollywood sign

I look like a were wolf. This was the big bang jewelry display.

On the way back, I showed Nick a bit of Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Then we picked up some vodka and some cranberry juice. We wanted to go swimming but unfortunately the pool was closed by the time we got back to the hotel so we watched a movie instead.
