Saturday

Today I met Carla and Priya at Rose Bakery after finishing my Stumbling on Happiness book. The book was pretty much everything I had studied in depth in my thinking seminar, but condensed and not as thorough. Still, an engaging read. Now I'm reading Freud on Creativity and the Unconscious.

At Rose Bakery, though I wanted to try the tart salé with the salade de comptoir, I decided to stick with a tried and true, the scrambled eggs on cheese scone with salsa. I recalled learning in my thinking seminar that sticking with an old favorite leads to more happiness than taking a gamble on a dish you haven't tried, and may or may not like. Even if you end up liking it, the thrill of the gamble doesn't equate to as much happiness as you derive from sticking with something you know already makes you happy.

I suppose we can apply this to relationships.

Then we went to see Les Petits Mouchoirs for our cinema class. We have a paper due on Wednesday on it. It was mostly dialogue based, so it was hard.. but it was like having one of your senses destroyed and thus your other senses are heightened.. my attention to color, to movement, to body language.. The sound track was amazing!! Mostly songs from the 70's-80's

It was a great movie, though a bit too long. Carla's over now, we're trying to do work. No going out tonight, it's raining.

London or no, this weekend? I have to decide soon! Priya's leaving on Wednesday, if Carla and I book our flights soon we can go on Thursday to Sunday, but my heart's telling me to stay in Paris.
