Here now

August 31, I imagined what my blog would look like at this point, how much I would fill it with. I wanted a preview of what I would have lived. And now, here it is, complete. I wish I could go back and show my old self how much has happened, how much I've changed, and at the same time, how little has.

Today was an eventful day. I woke up at 4am because I was so nervous about waking up on time today and making it to my 9am class early. I made it there 4 minutes late, but I got in to the class room right behind the teacher so I wasn't late. We had a written exam for an hour. Then I ran out of school to get to my doctor. I got lost and ended up going a long, roundabout way that took me an extra 20 minutes. After that, I ran back to school thinking we were filming again today which we weren't so instead I called Priya and asked her if she wanted to see a movie. She said she would meet me at school after a quick shower. Priya said she had plans with Jacob to go to the Larry Clark exhibit, so I went with her. I was just at the museum yesterday so I knew how to get there. The exhibit was great, there were a few photos that struck me hard, froze me, one of a little baby in a coffin being buried, surrounded by flower garlands. The other exhibit was interesting, but was just a large space with big white rocks to the left and logs on the right with some reindeer made out of metal.

Afterwards we went to a nearby cafe and had a chantal cheese plate and café crème. Had one of the funniest conversations ever. Jacob told us about how he almost ate his twin brother in the womb because he was the hungriest baby ever (no actually he was smothering his brother and the doctors couldn't find his brother so they had to do a c-section) and that once he gave himself a hair cut and cut too close to the roots so his little hairs were sticking out weird and that he was ugly for 5 months after that. Then Priya and I did some shopping on the way back to school, stopped at MAC and Sephora. Then we went to art class which was nice.. I love Marie Lepetit.

Then then then.. Katie and Priya and I headed over to a lovely vegan restaurant off the 8 St Sebastien. AMAZZZZZING. The waiter forgot Priya's order so he gave her free pasta later and apologized profusely. Priya wasn't feeling so well after he forgot her order, and I told her later that it was perhaps a trigger that set off a lot of pent up anger from this whole experience, just the language barrier and finding it hard to truly articulate ideas and this one incident perhaps touched on some of that anger and frustration because she had pointed at the pasta, and a universal symbol like that wasn't even understood. I had Pho and these delicious mushroom seitan patties with spicy sauce. Priya had pumpkin soup and pasta. Katie had a vegan cheese plate (never before have I seen her so excited about food before), soup, and a mushroom crepe, and a rose cappuccino. Then on the way out we laughed until we cried, Priya almost peed, and Katie had to crouch down a few times because she was laughing so hard.

Then I finally, finally came home at 11:30 or so. Been out of the house since 8, and surprisingly still have energy. Tonight was Eli's party and Nicholl wanted me to go with her, but when she texted me to ask if I was going, I texted back "no going into labor. food baby. u r godmother"

I had quite a few realizations today, having been in my retreated state of mind once again. All I hope is that I won't get sick and get all my work done and live through the next few weeks.

oh oh, the end is near. I don't ever want this to end. This has been the most perfect time of my life.
