happy

yesterday.. i was supposed to go to the catacombs but then i took cold medicine and knocked out.. at 7 i went to meet Carla at shakespeare and co, the legendary bookstore. we decided not to get books because they were all in english.. granted they would help us with our french readings but i realized that would entail reading TWO books instead of one so we dropped them and walked across the seine to go to Chez Marianne.

Jeff and Janet were already there, so we got a table for four which took almost an hour and ate delicious yummy mediterannean food and yes, it was worth the wait. Julia and Nassim got their own table, so did Priya and Katie. We then walked over to La Perle and had a few drinks. Then we got lots of bottles of wine and drank them on the street (a big no no, but a legal no no) and then we walked and walked around and joined in the celebration for Nuit Blanche.

Then we walked over to Julia's french friend's party, but it got too big so we had to leave and we walked until we got to a huge apartment and we stayed up and listened to music until 6, when the subways were open again. We took the train back and now it is 6:30 which means I've been out of my house for a full 12 hours.

and you know what i realized?

i'm so, so, happy.

for the first time in my life, i'm happy with where i live, what i'm doing, and everyone in my life.
